Rank 1: Apple MacBook Pro

Rank 1: Apple MacBook Pro

Outstanding features: PC users have waited for a long time for a Mac on which they can run Windows. Well, the wait is finally over.

The MacBook Pro is the first Mac notebook that runs on an Intel Platform, and that too Core Duo. To make things even better, the MacBook Pro comes with a 17-inch display screen, 1Gb DDR2 RAM, 100Gb Hard drive, ATI Radeon X1600 256Mb Video card, 8x DVD Burner, three USB and two Firewire ports.

The MacBook Pro features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well. The advantage with this notebook is that you can have a multi-operating system installed, Windows XP and Mac and, if you are geeky enough, triple boot it with Linux. There is also an integrated webcam (called iSight by Apple) that delivers average quality videos.

Drawbacks: Some applications that are not originally designed for the Mac take time to load. The price is also on the expensive side.

The final word: The first Intel platform based notebook, the MacBook Pro offers true performance but at a price. If you are not Mac-crazy, you can get a better PC laptop at this price.

Price: Rs 1,25,000

The M90 weighs a hefty 3.9 kg and is cased with magnesium alloy, making it more durable and resistant.

Drawbacks: An expensive and bulky laptop that is ideally meant for gamers and graphics designers.

The final word: M90 makes it easier for content creators and graphics professionals who work mostly in 3DS Max or CAD oriented applications.

Price: Rs 1,45,990
